Introduction
This programme is intended to give a
cross-disciplinary foundation to
students who desire to choose a
broader, more varied programme of
study. Students may cross
departmental lines in order to
obtain the preparation that will
best fit them for the future study
of other disciplines.
Objectives
The
department aims to provide students
with a broad-based, educational
foundation for increased flexibility
in future study and career choices.

Requirements
Additional Requirements

Students must complete the basic
general education requirements
as outlined.

Instead of taking a major and a
minor, students are required to
select emphases in at least
three related disciplines of a
minimum of twenty four credits
each, with at least 12-15 hours
of upper division credits in
each discipline. Credits in the
areas of emphasis are exclusive

GPA of 2.5 or above in at least
two of the areas of emphasis and
a GPA of 2.25 or better in the
other.

Students should file an approved
course plan with the advisor or
the programme coordinator no
later than the end of the
sophomore year. This plan must
be approved by the Academic
Board.
Each department chairperson serves
as advisor for the emphasis taken
within that department. The
coordinator or chairperson of the
Department of General Studies serves
as general advisor for each student.
